The slicer is nice. I do a terrible job of slicing so it's really convenient.
Yeah Jameson's reaction is exasperation. It always "looks fine" and "tastes great", and he's not wrong...it's just not how I wanted it :P
I'm in the middle of redoing this rye and it still looks oddly lumpy although the crust hasn't split yet thankfully. I think either A) my hands were wet while I was doing the final shaping and this may have weakened the loaf tension, or B) I had it in the microwave with a cup of hot water and it might not have needed that, and might have risen too fast, causing it to tear.
