Yeah, auditions especially to be a performer, as opposed to a musician, are often very involved. Cirque du Soleil auditions used to involve marching in different patterns and at different tempos, plus interpretive dance, acting, singing, and like 10 minutes' worth of musical performance. It was frankly ridiculous when they rarely even had job openings, and at some point they realized that and changed the initial application to be just a normal portfolio submission.
