Merry Christmas!
Dec. 25th, 2022 09:06 amMerry Christmas!
I am up early to start the sticky buns on their second proof.
I messed up the butter quantities, but hopefully they will still be edible.
The nuts are in a bowl on the table for cracking.
The presents and stockings are under the tree, waiting to be exchanged and opened.
Jameson is sleeping, and I am sipping coffee while the buns warm and fluff.

I have just finished uploading the only recording in the whole world of both my parents, Paul O'Malley and Joanne Diltz, now deceased.
The recording is about 50 minutes long and spans several years.
Taken from the A- and B-sides of a cassette tape that my mother made; burned and digitized and now uploaded to live on the internet.
The first actual track, after a bit of an intro, is of my parents and toddler-me singing Christmas songs.
So seemed appropriate to upload it now.
Would you like to listen?
Part 1
Part 2
I sent the link to my siblings, who have probably not heard my mother's voice since she died 21 years ago.
And my sister Kate and I will now have a recording of my dad's voice too.
They may not listen to it today...too emotional and potentially hard to hear.
But now we all have it.
Probably 70% of the audio is of me singing and doing kid stuff; I wish it was more of my parents.
But we take what we can get.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. Hope it's a good one for you and yours :)
