The male/female thing was just I wondered if the women were more likely to cook than the men. I know Mark, my friend, has never been a big cook even when not on tour but my husband is a keen cook and might be more likely to try to cook for himself. I think the laundry issue would really stress me out. When I bought my first flat I didn't have a washing machine for the first couple of years and had to wash everything by hand. The appreciation of the ease of having a washing machine on hand has never really gone away.
Anyway, thanks for the insight and as always I'm impressed with how you manage it!
