Yes, just because it’s a holiday doesn’t mean things magically become hunky-dory!
Indeed, I still have nothing to complain about. As it turns out my touring company was willing to reimburse most of the rental cost. And the trombone has been fixed already, I’m picking it up on the way back down to Florida in a few days. Just because I perceive something as being “bad“, doesn’t mean it actually is in the scheme of things. It seems quite meant to happen.
