It was hard to get up on Tuesday morning at the hotel.
I could have slept aaaaaallll day.

But no, still more road to trip.

When I was finally able to pry my eyes open I went down to the lobby for a mediocre breakfast, supplemented by a trip to Publix for some boiled eggs and bottled water later on.
Then I tried a few tire shops to see if I could get another tire, as you're supposed to buy them in pairs or all four at once.
No dice, either no one had the tire or no one had an opening for an appointment.
So I went to a Goodwill instead, and found two pairs of jeans, hooray! Because I only packed one pair, lol.

Then I found lunch and some more coffee, and hit the road again.
I drove about five hours to my aunt and uncle's house in Cary, NC. My aunt pulled into the driveway right when I arrived. Good timing!

After chatting for a bit they took me out to a local Italian restaurant (although *I* was supposed to be buying *THEM* dinner, sigh) where I had an incredible meal of capellini de mare (spaghetti with misc seafood in a spicy red sauce) and pistachio-dusted lemon blueberry panna cotta for dessert.

The food was, obviously, incredible.
But what was more incredible was getting to spend time, even just a short dinner, with my aunt and uncle.
They were the last family I spent time with before the lockdowns began in March 2020. So it's fitting that they were the first family I'd get to see again now that everything is opening back up. I've missed them very much. And hopefully we'll get to have more time together later this year.

For now, it was a good visit but way too short. A few hours later I was back on the road to a hotel near Richmond, VA.

Normally I would have stayed with my aunt overnight, but she's got to work early in the morning, and I really want to get my tires evened out so I can stop worrying about them. I had found a shop in Richmond that had the tires and also the time to put them on, so I wanted to get there first thing the next morning and being 30 minutes away as opposed to two hours away would facilitate that.

The two hour drive to the next hotel was uneventful, although per usual the Virginia cops were out pulling anyone and everyone over. I've gotten more speeding tickets in Virginia than in all other US states combined, which is really insane when you think about how many states I've driven through. So I drove the speed limit and arrived at the hotel unharrassed.

I'm looking forward to another night of 8 hours of sleep. Freaking magical!
Then a simple breakfast and off to match me widdle tires before completing my journey to PA.
Wish me luck!
