**Long Post.**

TL;DR TikTok
-------------------------------------------------------

Thursday was a sunny, cool day, so I knew I'd want a walk :)

I did my data entry for an hour with the hotel window as far open as possible since we don't have climate control.
Eventually it got down to 72F, perfect!

After data entry and breakfast I got dressed and went to an urban market because I needed an avocado, and also because they have EVERY flavor of the "tepache" that I love! I've never seen all of the flavors in one place before.

I picked a new one to try, then strolled over to the hockey arena because that's where the Ringling Bros. Red Unit had their very last performance. In fact, the circus and I came to Providence several times (2013, 2015, 2017/the final performance).

I found the empty lot where we had been allowed to park our cars on our last day.
It was just an empty lot, but I could visualize my Corolla, packed to the roof with all of my belongings in the minutes before I had to drive away forever. It was hurtful, but I'm glad I went and had a look.

I walked around the arena looking for the cemented elephant footprint that had been taken to memorialize the elephants leaving the show in 2016. I found it in a very prominent place, right in front of the arena.

The plaque and footprint.

I cleared the leaves out before going on my way.

Still feeling kind of like a little floatyghost, this time wearing my Tootsie jacket, which bears a striking resemblance to my Ringling crew jacket.
Gigs will come and go, but that was not a gig. It was a life.

I'd planned to go thrifting but the thrift store was a lot farther than I'd thought, so I decided to do laundry instead.
The laundromat was clean and bright (rare!) so I was able to relax and read my book while the load washed and dried.
After the laundromat it was time for my last planned foodie stop in Providence: Tricycle Ice Cream.

I got there right as they opened. It's a tiny space with lots of plants in the windows and big chalkboards listing the flavors.
No sitting room because no room for chairs, but they've set up sort of islands where you could stand and eat if you wanted
Mostly they do ice cream sandwiches, but they also have cones, ice cream tacos, push pops, and more.

I had originally planned on the banana pudding ice cream sandwich with Nilla wafer chunks, peanut butter cookies, and chopped peanuts, but then I saw that they had seasonal options like a carrot cake ice cream sandwich (nixed because it's dipped in white chocolate which is not my fave) and an apple cider one. But there was a pumpkin one that very much appealed to me...so I rolled with it.

The owner reached into a big freezer and pulled out this adorable, wax-wrapped package, tied with red and white string and sealed with a logo sticker. I almost didn't want to open it! It felt like holding an old fashioned parcel with something special inside :)

I carefully unwrapped it to reveal the treat:
brown sugar roasted pumpkin ice cream with a cream cheese frosting swirl, chunks of honey graham streusel throughout, sandwiched between two brown butter blondies.

Here's the picture from Tricycle Ice Cream's Instagram, to show scale and awesomeness:

When I tell you it was amazing...I mean it was AMAZING.
The ice cream was the star of the show, it really was like a gourmet pumpkin pie with a perfect taste of cream cheese swirled in.
The blondies were chewy and decadent...actually I could have done with just one of them, but they were so delicious, and felt like a chewy pie crust against the smooth pumpkin ice cream. I didn't get a lot of strudel chunks, but what I did get added more texture than flavor.

I ate the whole thing even though it was bigger than I expected.
Can't exactly save an ice cream sandwich for later, and would NEVER waste any part of something as good as this!
Immediately I wanted to try more flavors. But no...gotta have some self control, because more treats await in other cities.

If you are ever in Providence, I would suggest that you DO NOT LEAVE until you've had something from Tricycle Ice Cream.
Not even joking y'all, it's that good. Please look at theirInstagram to see pictures of their amazing flavors.

I still had my little suitcase of laundry with me, but it was very light, so I continued walking for a bit until I felt less full.
I wandered over to a little park next to the Armory, where people were out with their kids and dogs enjoying the mid-60s temps.

An octopus graffiti that I liked. I like how his tentacles are on the pavement too.

This one is, erm, less artistic and more of a "statement" lol. But it made me laugh.

A spikyplant that I found.

Eventually I walked back to the hotel, giving me about 2.5 miles and supposedly burning around 200 calories.
That doesn't cover the whole ice cream sandwich, but it doesn't have to. I was gonna eat a little lighter for dinner tonight anyway.

At the theater the show went well, we had a great audience.
They REALLY loved the character of Sandy, to the point where she was rushing the pauses in her song because the audience clapped enthusiastically in each pause and it was causing a delay! Lol. That's the kind of problem you want to have!

---------------------------------------------------

Friday I woke up an hour later than usual, which is great.
I've had a lot of trouble sleeping lately for a variety of reasons so every extra hour counts.

Breakfast and data entry, then this time I did walk to the thrift store about 1.5 miles away.
There are 1-2 things that I've brought with me that I have never used that I wanted to donate, and of course I love to look around as well.

Since we will be bussing to the next two cities I can pack myself lunches and drinks and stuff so that I don't have to eat out at our rest stops. I swung by a Stop & Shop, didn't get a lot but just enough to restock and supplement what I already have for travel. Some lean proteins like jerky and tuna pouches. Some seeds and nuts and dried edamame. Some travel-friendly veggies. And I finally got to restock on ginger candies too (one of our flights had been a little turbulent so I'd shared them and was almost out.)

So grand total was about 4 miles of walking, five if you count the walk to and from the theater.
I try to get between 8,000-10,000 steps at least four days per week, to help offset my foodie finds.
It usually works.

The evening show was nice, nothing to report.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Saturday I took it easy. Breakfast and data entry, finishing Made in Abyss.

We had two shows and both were well attended.
The weather was nice and walking back and forth between hotel and theater was pleasant.
After the later show there were several Halloween block parties going on downtown, with streets closed up and small stages set up.
They may have been run by some of the local bars, because there were bouncers on the sidewalk checking wristbands and IDs before letting people join the festivities. Most people had fun costumes on, and looked to be gearing up for a raucous evening of spooky fun :)

Near our hotel, though, there had been an incident of some sort.
I didn't see what happened, but saw that the block had been roped off and encircled by police cars, and there were evidence markers on the ground along with blood spatters (real ones). No idea what happened, but I hope the people involved are all right.
Definitely don't see that every day.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Sunday morning was rough. It had been a noisy night, with my room right next to the elevators and people coming and going at all hours for the Halloween festivities. I got up at the usual time and had breakfast and started to pack, like usual. Researched flights for a visit to my family in PA for Christmas, and made some updates to upcoming cities on my Foodie Finds list.

When I had researched Oklahoma City initially, very few options had come up.
I'm not sure why that is, because when I revisited it today there was SO MUCH to choose from!
TWO food halls for pete's sake. So I spent a lot of time updating that city, which was fun.

Then some data entry and lunch before it was time for our final two shows in Providence.

We had great crowds again!
And Brittany, Joanna, and Jenna joined forces to paint a beautiful wall tag for our show backstage!
I am upset with myself because I took a picture, along with a picture of the front of the theater, and accidentally deleted them from my phone after posting that TikTok.

So here is a picture of the wall tag stolen from Jenna:

And here is the front of the Providence Performing Arts Center, stolen from Bill:

After the last show we packed up as usual. Off to bed for tired little me.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

It's Monday and I'm having a nice slow morning.
The bus doesn't get here until 11:30, then we have about five hours of driving with one planned rest stop before reaching the next hotel in Utica, NY around dinnertime. My plan then is to get a few groceries and partially unpack since we're only there for two days.

That spiky plant you found is a moonflower pod, once it dries out and opens it will contain lots of moon flower seeds. You should have taken it with you for future planting.
